SC just wanted CLH to treat her as he used to do, Ep 20 |
I miss Chor Lau Heung and Song Siu Ching... hence despite my sleepiness, I want to post the following screen shots from episodes 20 and 32. Episode 20 screen shots portray Chor tai-gor's initial hesitance in having a relationship with Siu Ching after he learned that she was the Princess. Ep 20 and 32 screen shots portray Siu Ching's promise to Chor Lau Heung; that she just wanted to be with him, to spend her life with him, and she was ready to cast aside her title and rank for him. Of course when in Ep 40 she later forgot her promise and wanted him to stay with her in the palace instead, he was disappointed (see these screen shots for the latter scene in Ep 40). The shots also showed how CLH took marriage seriously, hence his initial reluctance in trying out the relationship with the Princess, because he really actually wanted it to work, and he originally didn't have faith in their relationship. Ep 32 was very important in the CLH/SSC saga because it was here when Chor tai-gor truly promised that he'd take Siu Ching with him (presumably to be his wife) in his wandering adventures.
Episode 20
Screen caps below start after Siu Ching asked why CLH avoided her as of late (I cut out the part where SC and CLH discussed about his cordial feelings to Wah Jan Jan).
The screen caps below start after Chor tai-gor had a heart to heart conversation with the Emperor who practically offered his daughter the Princess to Lingering Fragrance.

He nodded... |
...and she was of course disappointed... |
She acknowledged his compliment despite her disappointment |
So sweet that he actually worried about this... |
She blushed... |
Look at the way he admired her... |
...and how glad he was of her promise and commitment... |
While hugging her, his fingers kept caressing her... |
... not just caressing, but squeezing her arms too... so sweet... |
...and she was so happy to hear his commitment... |
Sigh... my Velcro Couple is just too cute...By the way, when Siu Ching said "a woman should share her husband's fate", Chor tai-gor looked so happy and full of love (panels 9-10 from the last panel)... His expression reminded me of how Li Sai Man looked at Sik Sik (the Foundation 1984) when the latter told him that she was confident of his love for her (Ep 11 the Foundation). I mean, it's not because Michael Miu played both Li Sai Man and Chor Lau Heung (duh!). It was just the context was similar... both men were glad that their respective lovers told them something that they had wanted to hear (CLH that SC truly wanted to leave her title for him; LSM that SS finally realised how deep his love for her was, although of course we know what eventually happened to dear Sik Sik...).
