Jianghu meetings vs modern meetings

I'm still slow in updating because of my recent European trip... so pardon this short trivia. I have a fan-fiction in mind, short as it is, which I hope to post in the next weekend or earlier. Meanwhile, have a nice weekend, and please help us with the relocation of Barbara's tombstone! (Chinese translation is here).

Just in case the writing is too small:

Many Happy Returns!

Okay I'm SO going to make this!

“Chor tai-gor, long time no see!”

Chor Lau Heung nodded excitedly as he saw Szeto Man Mo walking into the garden pavilion with Lam Chor Yin, who was carrying a medium-sized colourful package. “Glad that you make it here, A Man,” Lingering Fragrance nodded to the couple, “ – considering your wife’s pregnancy.”

Chor Yin smiled as she caressed her enlarging stomach. “I’m fine. Plus, I can’t miss her birthday!”

“True,” A Man said as he took the package from his wife’s hand. “Where should we – Ah! Li tai-gor is here!”

Chor Lau Heung whipped his head to see Li Sai Man sauntering into the pavilion; one of his arms holding Chun Sik Sik tightly as if she’d run away if he didn’t do so.  It’s not a secret in their small group that Chor Lau Heung and Li Sai Man had an unspoken rivalry, hence Man Mo held his breath to see if the two dashing tai-haps can actually act civil this time.

Making MV subtitles with iMovie (Mac OS El-Capitan)

Huang Yaoshi is always charming, even on raw iMovie...

Since I bought a Macbook 2016 (rose gold!!!) last November, I had been on the edge about using its iMovie to make Michael/Barbara MVs. I’m not that fast a learner for techs like this. But then, my six years old Dell is already so slow that making MVs causing me stress instead of happiness…

So last December, after staring at my laptop for a while, I decided to just bite the dust and make an MB MV with the Mac iMovie. The first one I produced was UWS’ ‘A Thousand Dreams of You’ (ft. Leslie Cheung!). I was quite pleased with the result, hence I kept on using iMovie. FYI, the last MV I made with Windows Live Movie Maker was ‘Eyes on Me’ (CLH, ft. Tanya Chua).

I feel the need of writing this post, mostly to remind myself of my own tricks to make MVs with iMovie, and who knows, some people might benefit from it too. The most important tips I’m going to make are how to make subtitles in iMovie, cos iMovie Titles suits are surprisingly not superior to Windows Live Movie Maker. And the WLMM that I used was the one for Windows 7; i.e. not the most advanced version…

MB Couple Trivia Part 2

Tung Pang-fei and Ho Doh-wan (UWS Ep 12)

It’s been a while since I post my first MBTrivia… Recently, with all the problems around me, I feel like I need something light to ease my day. Hence, the second MB Trivia here, about birthdays, favourite meals and the number of kids that MB characters would have (plus A Leung – Dragon Ying, cos we can’t just leave them out…). Hannah and I did this session last January, but I haven’t been able to post it until now…

Now, moving on! Special thanks to Hannah for this post, she provided most of the answers here.

Oh, and I hope to post the next batch of LOCH 2017 episode highlights this weekend. Deadlines, stay away from me now, God knows I need my MB/jianghu time!

MB couple trivia

Chor Lau Heung pacifying Song Siu Ching, Ep 25

I made this trivia with Hannah, preventing her from sleeping by us asking each other some silly trivial questions about MB couples (it’s her birthday anyway, so she shouldn’t sleep early!). The couples in question are Li Sai Man/Chun Sik Sik, Chor Lau Heung/Song Siu Ching, Tung Pang Fei/Ho Doh Wan, and Szeto Man Mo/Lam Chor Yin. We at times include Dragon Ying (Lam A Ying) and her long suffering husband A Leung just for fun, and also Wong Yung/Kwok Ching and Yeung Hong/Mok Nim Chi, cos they just have to be mentioned. The results are as follows, a combination of both our answers. Anyone wants to add anything?

Oh, and happy birthday, Hannah! Thanks a lot for your visits, comments and friendship!

And this post contains a link to a CLH deleted scene as well, which I wrote for Hannah, but of course others can read too... (you don't mind, do you, Hannah? ^_^)

Conflict of Interests

In which the authoress is overwhelmed by requests from her fictional (and non-fictional) characters...

Source

Chor Lau Heung: So... I heard, well, read that you're into Li Sai Man these days.

Me: Correct. And Chun Sik Sik. Why?

CLH (snuffing his snuff bottle): Don't you know he's a murderer? Like, he actually killed his girlfriend!

Li Sai Man: What, you're jealous? At least the deleted scene fics of mine and Sik Sik got hundreds of reads!

CLH: You're still a murderer!

What to bring while travelling

I have almost finished summarising United We Stand episodes 7-12 (until the last episode). However, I need to do some real-world stuff first today before being able to post the next UWS summary. It will take me at least three hours to do that, so I might not be able to post it today. But I'll try.

Meanwhile, here's something for you in case you're going to travel and in need of packing. I love travelling, but I hate packing with a passion, hence I created this joke below. It compares the items we pack these days to the items the wanderers packed during those jianghu era. The answer is below the break (have been updated to include some extra essentials).

Have a nice weekend!
